Foxwood Springs residents as members, such as the Midwest Computer Genealogists.

“Caring” is the standard by which we judge our success.

Midwest Computer Genealogists

Midwest Computer Genealogists is a regional organization for genealogists which meets monthly to learn about new developments in genealogical research and to share their own research with other genealogists in the area.

MCG meets at Foxwood Springs on the third Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Bromwell Lounge (except September and December).

Alzheimer’s Support Group

Foxwood Springs is also host for a monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group.  This group meets every month.  This group is an extension of the Alzheimer’s Association.  Logo of Alzheimer’s AssociationIt is a support group for family members of Alzheimer’s patients.  The patient may be residing in our own unit or the family may be caring for the patient in their own home.  Members are kept up to date with the latest information and offer valuable support to each other.  Occasionally guest speakers are scheduled to provide even more education to the group.

Diabetes Support Group

Foxwood Springs is also host for an on-site Diabetes Support Group.  This group meets each month.  This group is designed specifically for the residents of Foxwood Springs who have been diagnosed with Diabetes, as well as their caregivers.  Members support each other and share valuable information.  Occasionally, guest speakers and films provide more in-depth information.

National Active and Retired Federal Employees

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1012 meets Logo of National Active and Retired Federal Employeesbi-monthly.   Meetings are held in Holmes Hall and include a business meeting, luncheon and a program.  They keep members aware of legislative issues that affect government retirees and employees.

Membership is open to civilians in any agency of the federal or D.C. governments including

  • Retirees

  • Current employees

  • Spouses and former spouses of current employees or retirees

  • Former employees eligible for deferred annuity

  • Survivors of those eligible to join NARFE
